Read at Sight

Terms of use

The agreement between you and us, in plain words.

Last updated 6 November 2026.

Who we are

Read at Sight is a graded sight-reading course for the piano at readatsight.com, provided by Read at Sight ("we"). Write to us at [email protected]. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Your account

  • Accounts are for people aged 16 or over.
  • You sign in with a link or code we email you, or with Google. Keep access to your email account safe: it is how you sign in.
  • One account is for one person. Don't share it.
  • You can export your data or delete your account at any time from your account page (see the privacy policy).

Plans and payments

  • Before You Begin, Volume 1, the daily exercise and the openly licensed pieces are free. A plan ($3 a month or $24 a year) opens the rest of the course while it lasts.
  • Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's own terms cover the purchase; it charges the price shown plus any VAT or sales tax.
  • Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page; you keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
  • Refunds: within 14 days of a payment, no questions asked. See the refund policy.
  • We may change the prices. A new price applies from your next renewal, and we tell you by email before it does.

If the course closes

There is no lifetime plan. If Read at Sight ever closes, we tell you at least 30 days before, stop all renewals, and refund the unused months of yearly plans.

The course and its music

  • The course (its text, exercises, original pieces, engravings, recordings and PDFs) is ours or used with permission. Your plan lets you use it for your own learning and teaching: read it, play it, print it for yourself. Please don't copy it for others, sell it or share your account or the PDFs; each PDF carries the email address it was made for.
  • Some pieces come with their own licences, listed on the credits page. The 16 pieces shared under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike are free for everyone, and our versions of them are shared under the same licence.

Using the site

Don't try to get round the parts that need a plan, overload the site, or use it to harm anyone. If you do, we may close your account; if you paid, we refund the unused part of the period.

Our promises, and their limits

We work to keep the site running and correct, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable or never contain a mistake. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using it, and our responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer where you live.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we tell you by email at least 30 days before. If you don't agree, you can cancel and get a refund for the unused part of a yearly plan.
