Prelude in C-sharp minor, Op. 3 No. 2

S. Rachmaninoff (1873-1943) - Morceaux de fantaisie, Op. 3 (1892)

The prelude that made Rachmaninoff famous at nineteen (two excerpts were in Volume 6): three bell-like chords, a quiet chordal section, a stormy middle in triplets and a climax on four staves. Plan the hand positions for every chord of the climax; play the opening chords with the weight of the arm, not by hitting.
